Regional Conference in Nottingham 12 February 1998 |
Programme and Purpose
This one day conference in Nottingham was for people living in
the Midlands and North of England. The aim of the conference was
to bring together employers, employees and university staff to
discuss the findings of the MEANS project and to consider
how best to improve university teaching of statistics in the
light of the findings of this project and the recommendations of
the Dearing Committee.
Employers and employees were able to share their concerns with
university lecturers. Lecturers were able to learn about
different forms of co-operation, different approaches being
adopted by their university colleagues in other institutions and
the expectations and needs of employers.
